The Daily Nugget- Step Out
Hi All
Christians should not expect serving Jesus to always be a comfortable experience. In fact, the opposite is often the case, God sometimes deliberately puts us in situations that are outside our comfort zone and that from a “natural” point of view would seem impossible, but in the “supernatural” and in God's power anything is possible (Matthew 19:26).God wants us to know that in our lives we can do nothing in our own strength, but it's only by His power(2 Corinthians 4:7).When God calls us into a ministry we need to be prepared to be pushed out of our comfort zone and serve in God's given strength so that He alone may be glorified.(1Peter 4:11)
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Step Out
I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor before you, send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it."
(Nehemiah 2:5)
When God is calling us into something new it very often means moving out of our comfort zones. That is exactly what Jesus did when He laid aside His glory in heaven.Jesus left His Heavenly Throne and covered. Himself in human flesh and walked among us. Not asking people to do anything He Himself hadn't done. Jesus constantly calls men and women to leave their comfort zones and follow Him.
Listen to Nehemiah " I was the king's cup bearer" (Nehemiah 1:11). That was Nehemiah's job and comfort zone, but God had a special task for him,the task of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, which would leave him vulnerable,he would be at the mercy of hostile people, whilst having to meet unknown challenges, which would not have been easy, but oh so rewarding, because by doing so Nehemiah became the agent of an incredible rebuilding process that brought much good to others and much glory to his God.
In God's Kingdom it is when people step out in faith, that things really start to happen.Jesus risked the cross trusting that the Father would raise Him on the third day and He did !Just like Jesus, whenever God calls us, we should always be prepared to come out of our comfort zone.
