The Daily Nugget - Stay Rooted

Hi All

Christians living today have so many options when it comes to learning about God and getting to know Him,we can listen to podcasts, read teaching books and listen to worship music. While these options are good our best way of being “spiritually fed” is to read the Bible and  become “rooted” in the word of God.When we are “rooted” in the Word of God,we begin to grow as men and women of God and we then can begin to experience fulfilment of the promises The Lord has given to us He said we will have Peace (John 14:27), Joy(John 15:11),Hope(Isaiah 40:31) and Provision (Phillipians 4:19).The Bible is The Living Word of God and in it we will find all the answers we need for any situation we may be in.

Stay Rooted 

6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

(Colossians 2:6-7)

Jesus Christ is The Living word of God and in the above scripture the apostle Paul is encouraging the Colossian church to be “rooted” in the faith of Jesus Christ. The word “rooted” means, “to be unwavering, fixed, or firmly established.” When someone is rooted in God, they build such a conviction that nothing can pull them away from God's word.

As believers being “rooted” in the word and in our faith is so important to us if we desire to live a life of victory(1 Corinthians 15:57), it is also important that we gather together regularly with fellow brothers and sisters (Hebrews 10;25) who can love and support us and encourage us as we walk with The Lord. There is nothing more pleasing to God than when believers gather together to praise Him and give Him all the glory He deserves for all He does in our lives everyday. To quote a line from a wonderful contemporary worship song by Don Meon "For all you've given to me for all the blessings I cannot see, Thank You Lord” AMEN !
