The Daily Nugget-He Alone Is Worthy

Hi All

The word worship comes from the Old English weorthscipe, or worthship. At the core of that word is the notion of worth, or worthiness, suggesting that our worship should only be directed to the person who is truly worthy. Many people may be worthy of our thanks, our appreciation, our gratitude and our respect, but only one is worthy of our worship. The psalmist makes it clear who that person is when He says “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised”(Psalm 18:3). God is worthy of all worship, honor, and praise because He is our creator that has a perfect nature and shows us everlasting love(1John 3:1)who is faithful and whose grace and mercy is new every morning(Lamentations 3:22-23).

Be Blessed and Encouraged

He Alone Is Worthy

"Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."

(Revelation 4:11)

In Christianity, God is considered worthy of all praise, glory, and honor because He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer. Based on Revelation 4:11, He is worthy because He created all things. There are so many reasons why God is worthy and that is why He deserves all our praise. The Bible teaches that God desires our worship (Psalm 99:5; John 4:23). He is the only One worthy of it (Deuteronomy 10:21; 1 Chronicles 16:25; Psalm 96:4–5). Our worship of Him reveals that we recognize that nothing else is worthy of our praise and when praise we acknowledge that He is central in our lives and we are nothing without Him. To quote from a wonderful worship song “You are worthy of it all from you are all things and to you are all things you deserve the glory”

Ultimately, for believers, God is worthy simply because of who He is,the eternal, independent, and perfect Supreme Being.
