The Daily Nugget- God's Living Word

As Christians our go-to for any of our problems has to be The Bible as it is the living word of God and is as relevant today as it was when it was written.Scripture tells us this”Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away”(Matthew 24:35) and that is why we need to read the word on a regular basis. Reading The Bible serves another purpose as it allows us to get to know God better,because the more time we spend in the bible, the more we develop a love for God Himself and the more we are led to Him and so we gain greater revelation of our loving Father.

God’s Living Word

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;   17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.   

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

In this mad world we are living in,one where moral values are disappearing, it is not enough to merely know the word of God,but we must try and put into practice what we know in our daily lives. In the old testament God told Joshua “this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night”(Joshua 1:8). We can read in Jeremiah “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will they teach their neighbour, or say to one another, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD(Jeremiah 31:33-34). Both these passages highlight the importance of spending time in the scriptures.  

When we put God’s word into practice in our daily lives we are showing the world we are different. To make an analogy, if you are learning to play a musical instrument,no matter how good a teacher you have, you will never learn to play by watching your teacher. It is not  until you put into practice what you are being taught,that you will notice a difference. It is the same with the word of God when we live by the guidelines and commands He gave us, it sets us apart from the world.
