The Daily Nugget- Be Thankful

Hi All,

Through The “Lord's Prayer” Jesus showed us how to pray and that our prayers should begin and end with praise, so in a sense our praise becomes like bookends to our prayers. A bookend is used to straighten and support. While it is often a beautiful decoration,it is also very functional,and or praise to God should be the same.When we place the bookends of Praise against our prayers,we tell God that who He is and what He means to us supports us and straightens and guides our lives.

We all have things in our lives to deal with that can bring us down,but if we step back in the midst of any situation we will always find something to be thankful for, as Psalm 100:4 tells us  “Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name”.   Let's look around today and be reminded of all the reasons we have to be thankful to God !

Be Thankful

Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

(Ephesians 5:20)

Some Christian denominations refer to the Lord’s Supper (Communion) as the Eucharist. Eucharist is translated as “give thanks,” being derived from a compound Greek word meaning “freely given”,a reference to Christ symbolically giving His disciples His body and blood (bread and wine) at the Last Supper (Matthew 26:26-29). The memorial celebration of His sacrificial offering of Himself became known as the Eucharist,a giving of thanks for Christ’s gift of Himself to us.

Later, the apostle Paul would write, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32) We have the greatest reason possible to be thankful to God for His gift of salvation in Christ. Since He has already given us the most important thing in life, we can surely thank Him for everything else He has provided as well: life, health, safety, provisions, family, and so much more. We can even thank Him for the difficulties of life since He has already given us life.

When we worship and praise God is when we feel his presence the most.In every circumstance our faith and trust in God is what we need to cling to.God’s giving deserves our thanksgiving ! Amen !
