The Daily Nugget- Be A Blessing
Hi All
One of the things we are called to do as Christians is to bless others just as God blesses us and today we read a great testimony of how a young boy did just that. Just like the young lad we all need to actively show God's love to others through our actions and words.
We are called to reflect God's character by showing people the same kindness, compassion and generosity God shows to us and in this way we are fulfilling the commandment that says “love thy neighbour as thyself”(Levitucus 19:18).Jesus Himself quotes this in the book of Matthew and tells us it is second only to loving God with all your heart and soul and mind(Matthew 22:38-40). Let's pause for a moment today and ask God to show us how we can best meet the needs of others and also to thank Him for His provision in our lives.
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Be A Blessing
And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
(Hebrews 13:16)
On a very hot day an eight year old boy named Carmite was concerned about the postman that he may become ill because of carrying his mailbag round in the heat.Without telling his mother, Carmite left a cool bag on the doorstep filled with bottled water and a sports drink. In the evening his mother as she always does checked the footage from the home security camera and on it was the reaction of the postman and when he found the drinks he was heard to say “Thank you God Thank You”. When his mother asked Carmite why he left the drinks he replied that it was his duty to make sure the postman was ok. This story is very encouraging and warms the heart. This is an example of how God IS our great provider and there are many examples to be found in scripture that confirm how God will use other believers to meet our needs. When Jesus sent out His disciples to minister, they were to trust God to provide for their needs through other people (Matthew 10:9–11; Luke 10:4–8). Jesus received help from Martha (Luke 10:38). A group of women traveled with Jesus and His disciples “to support them out of their own means” (8:1–3). And the apostle Paul had the practical support of many churches he ministered to (Romans 15:26–27; 2 Corinthians 8:1–6; 11:8–9).
We can all be uplifted safe in the knowledge that God’s provisions are always greater than our problems. Thank You Lord !
