The Daily Nugget- Growing Spiritually

Hi All

Today our text looks at spiritual growth, which is described in the bible as a process of becoming more like Jesus, but this can only be done through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives to produce in us the fruits of the spirit as described in scripture“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit”(Galatians 5:22).

It is only through the Holy Spirit we can find joy and peace no matter our circumstances.

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Growing Spiritually

14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

(Ephesians 4:14-16)

In the passage of scripture above Paul writes, “We are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head” (Eph. 4:15). As believers, we should constantly strive to grow closer to God. When He is the Lord of our life, certain characteristics will be evident.

As we grow spiritually we become more aware of when we sin and are quickly prompted to repent, when we refuse to repent then we are rebelling against G . grow spiritually, we tend to turn away from worldly things that were once acceptable to us as we start to live in a way more pleasing to God.When we grow spiritually we will experience more joy, but also more trials, because it is through testing times that our faith grows as does our relationship with God.(James 1:2-4).

The sovereign God is the gatekeeper of our life. We mature when we perceive whatever comes our way as being allowed by our Father and realize He’s working every situation for good as scripture tells us,”And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”. (Romans 8:28)
