The Daily Nugget- Shine The Light

As followers of Christ every believer has the opportunity to let His light shine through us for everyone to see the apostle Paul speaks of this when he tells us “ Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”(1 Corinthians 10:31).Paul knew that everyday we will be presented with opportunities to glorify God through our actions and deeds. Even the little things we do that may seem insignificant can have an impact on those around us, such as a friendly smile to someone, a quick hello in passing or an offer of help,can brighten someone's day and in doing so we are letting the light of The Lord shine through us.Our actions to glorify God are not limited to the big gestures,sometimes it is the little gestures that can have the biggest impact on those around us.

Shine The Light
14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
(Matthew 5:14-16).
In the above passage .Jesus compares his followers to light, saying we "are the light of the world," unable to be hidden. No one puts a lamp under a bowl because a lamp is designed to help people see in dark places. Jesus through His actions and deeds gave the best example for us to follow He was “The Light Of The World”(John 8:12). As Christians we are called to follow Jesus' example and let the world around us see Him and His light shining through us everyday.The purpose of our light is that God may be glorified.
The “Light Of The Lord” can represent many things,when the way ahead seems bleak it can be a floodlight,when we need comfort it can be like a bedside lamp, it can be a beacon when we need guidance and when we show His light to others who may be in a dark place it becomes a lighthouse to bring them from the darkness into His glorious light !
