The Daily Nugget- Cloud Of Glory
Hi All
Whenever we feel like God is far away from us or the situation we are facing, we should remind ourselves that when the Israelites were in the desert for 40 years, God sent a cloud of glory to shelter them(Exodus 40:34-38) The Jewish rabbis call this cloud the “Ananei HaKavod”, and they teach that inside this cloud, God provided for His people and kept them safe. Inside the cloud, God made His people aware of His presence and sustained them. Whatever “wilderness” situation we find ourselves in, remember that just as God was with the Israelites keeping them from harm, so He is with us because we have a God who never changes(Malachi 3:6) a God who keeps His promises(Numbers 23:19).
Be Blessed And Encouraged
Cloud Of Glory
34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 36 Throughout all their journeys whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out; 37 but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up. 38 For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the houses of Israel.
(Exodus 40:34-38,)
5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" 6 When the disciples heard this, they fell face down to the ground and were terrified. 7 And Jesus came to them and touched them and said, "Get up, and do not be afraid." 8 And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.
(Matthew 17:5-8)
In Christianity, the "Cloud of Glory"(or “Shekinah”) represents the tangible manifestation of God's presence.Historically it appeared as a guiding pillar of cloud by day and fire by night,to direct and guide the Israelites when they were wandering in the desert, by telling them when to move and when to stay and make camp(Read Exodus). When Moses completed the Tabernacle, the cloud filled it,which was a symbolic representation of God dwelling among His people(Exodus 40:34).
In the New Testament we read how the same "Cloud of Glory” overshadowed the disciples during Jesus' Transfiguration as God spoke giving His divine approval to Jesus when He said “this is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased”( Mathew 17:5, Luke 9:7).
Whatever challenges we may face,be assured God is with us protecting us,sustaining us and keeping us safe inside “The Cloud" just as He did for the Israelites !
