Hi All

When we study the psalms one thing that really comes across is the desire of the authors to be close to God by continually seeking to be in His presence for example  “O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly”(Psalm 63:1) “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You”(Psalm 42:1). This comes from  a deep desire to be closer to Him and to live in a way that will please Him.As believers this is a place where we should all strive to be,one where we have a thirst and hunger that only God can satisfy. When we focus on earthly things any joy we get is only fleeting, as the bible teaches the only lasting joy and peace we receive can only come from The Lord(Matthew 6:19-21), the one who promises never to leave us or forsake us(Hebrews 13:5)and that He will meet all our needs(Phillipians 4:19).

Be Blessed and Encouraged

 A Longing For God

1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.   2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?

(Psalm 42:1-2)

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

(Matthew 6:33)

In Christian belief, seeking God means making a conscious and deliberate effort to connect with Him, prioritize Him in life, and pursue a deeper relationship with Him. It's not just about religious activity, but about a heart-felt desire to know and experience God more fully. This pursuit shapes our thoughts, actions, and priorities, influencing how we navigate life's challenges and opportunities. When we have a true hunger for God it allows God to guide and direct us in all aspects of our lives. Through prayer, meditation on His word and seeking His will all believers can discern His plans and purposes for our lives. As believers we are chosen by God(1Peter 2:9) and His ways are always higher than ours(Isaiah 55:9)so everyday let’s seek Him and follow the path He has set out for us.
