The value of God’s living word is expressed in many scriptures throughout the bible for example “your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”(Psalm 119:105) and “for the word of God is living and active”(Hebrews 4:12). As Christians we are to trust in His word and believe the Bible is  the reliable and unchanging word of God, and when we spend time in His word everyday it will lead to a stronger faith and a better understanding of who God is, we will get to know God not just know about God. The scriptures were given to strengthen, provide wisdom and encourage all who love God and put their faith in Jesus.

Trust in The Word

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 

(2 Timothy 3:16)

When Jesus was being tempted by the devil He used scripture to counter anything the devil had to say for example after fasting for forty days and nights the devil challenged Him to turn stone into bread to which Jesus replied quoting from Deuteronomy 8:3 saying “man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of  God”(Matthew 4:3-4). Just like Jesus when we are challenged we should also turn to scripture to give us the answers and the strength we need,rather than relying on our own feelings(Proverbs 3:5-6). The Bible is so much more than just a collection of pages with words on them, it is the living breathing word of God that provides us with strength,hope and peace.The more we read and meditate on the living word of God the easier we will find it to cope with whatever challenges come our way.
