The Bible, particularly James 1:17, states that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights". This verse emphasizes that all blessings we receive and any talents and abilities are given to us by God who is our unchanging source going back to the very beginning of time.In the story of creation we are told that

“God saw all He had made and it was good”(Genisis 1:31). Our gifts from God are perfect and precisely designed for us as individuals to sustain us and are given in a way that fills our soul,this is why we should embrace them with thankful hearts full of praise knowing they are given to us by God because He loves us. As the psalmist puts it “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever”(Psalm 106:1).

All Good Things

12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.   13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.   14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.   15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.   16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.   17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.   18 In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

In today’s passage, James writes, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow” (James 1:17). When we step back and take a moment to think of the abundance of blessings in our lives, we can only marvel at God's goodness. He has given us the air we breathe, the sun that warms our faces, and the love of our family and friends. However the greatest gift God has bestowed upon believers is that of salvation and the assurance of eternal life.  These gifts have all been given freely to us by a loving creator who never changes and never gives us reason to doubt Him. Praise The Lord !
