The Bible is more than literature, history or the chronicles of a nation. It is the written WORD of GOD to all people.Both the old and New testaments are inspired by God and infallible. For believers it is what we use as our guide and is just as relevant today as it was when it was written. “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart”.(Hebrews 4:12). When God wants to reveal His truth explicitly, He reveals Himself through His written Word. I think we will all have had the experience when reading scripture something jumps out at us we have never thought of before and it always seems to happen when we need it most, this is the amazing power of the living word Thank You Lord !

The Word of God

Your testimonies are wonderful; Therefore my soul observes them.   The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

(Psalm 119:129-130)

Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me.

Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes.

God's word truly is lifegiving,guiding us through the years on this earth and preparing us for eternity.Its divine message is timeless,relevant through the generations and across cultures.Its ancient wisdom speaks even to contemporary readers.The Bible fuels our growth as believers. We have the Gospels which are essentially four biographies of Jesus which enable us to get to know Him and not just about Him. We can also read about imperfect people who love God and God loves them anyway,this is such a great encouragement for us as we also are far from perfect. We are so blessed because God not only gave us the living word in the form of His son Jesus,but He also gave us His written word. 

We have so much access to His truths given to us through scripture which gives us light and understanding and may we never take this for granted because where would we be without it. The best way to show our appreciation for “the word” and its author is to spend time everyday reading our bibles and listening to what God is telling us through it and being obedient to what He has told us for His Glory Amen !
