In the bible in the book of John Jesus speaks of “Living Springs” or “Springs of Living Water” particularly when He speaks with the Samaritan at the well(John 4:7-30).As Christians we understand “Springs of Living Water” to mean that God is our ultimate source of spiritual life and sustenance. “Living Springs” for believers is a term used to symbolise the life-giving presence of God which nourishes believers and offers us spiritual renewal and salvation. The “Holy Spirit”who dwells within believers, is like a spring of water, which continually refreshes and renews the soul. As Jesus said, "But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."(John 4:14)
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Living Springs
Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, "All my springs of joy are in you.”
(Psalm 87:7, NASB)
6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.
(Colossians 2:6-7, NASB)
In Idaho USA there is a place called Trinity Springs which has some of the oldest, deepest and freshest water on earth and claims to be the deepest water from the oldest source. This may be true but as Christians
we know for certain that The Holy Trinity provides us with living waters that can fill us to the brim. Jesus asked the Father, and He sent the Spirit, which is like a river flowing from within us (John 7:38). We as believers are called to be filled with the Spirit, meaning we should yield every part of our lives to Jesus Christ so He can live His life through us by His Spirit. In doing so, we find the Spirit begins to develop Christ’s nine basic character traits within us: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Sadly many Christians are living in a dry and thirsty land, not realising that God has wells of living water that may be theirs for the asking”.Lets ask God today to fill us with His spirit so people can see His light shining from within us.
