Hi All

One of the most popular Hymns of all time is “Amazing Grace” which  refers to the unmerited favour and love of God, particularly in offering salvation and forgiveness to humanity. It is considered "amazing" because it is freely given, not earned, and extends to all, even those who have not lived perfectly. This grace is often associated with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who died to atone for all of our sins past, present and future, the remarkable thing is that we can do nothing to earn it NO it is a gift from God ”For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, “not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.(Ephesians 2:8-9),as believers we are truly blessed that God through His love for us gave us the gift of His “ Amazing Grace”

Thank You Lord !

God’s Amazing Grace

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men

(Titus 2:11).

We all know the wonderful Hymn “Amazing Grace” written by John Newton and as we will read his testimony is a wonderful example of just how “ amazing” the “grace” of God truly is and why this Hymn has had such an impact on so many lives.

John Newton was a slave trader who trafficked countless numbers  of men women and children from Africa and then sold them as slaves. On one of his journeys in 1748  a violent storm threatened to sink his ship so John Newton, not knowing what to do, sank to his knees and prayed to God for mercy. It was that night that he began to sense there is a God who hears and answers prayers, even for men as wicked as himself. This revelation began a journey of repentance for John Newton and led to Him becoming a preacher and writer of Hymns, he was also at the forefront of the movement to abolish slavery and lobbied parliament on many occasions. It was in 1742 that he wrote a hymn originally called "Faiths review and expectations" which we know as Amazing Grace, which has gone on to become perhaps the most well known hymn in history. This Hymn inspires, brings hope and softens hearts even in times of trials and tribulations and the core message of the Hymn is that no matter what anyone has done Grace can reform them and make them new in Christ.”Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come”(2 Corinthians 5:17). Thank You Lord !
