Hi All

We have all heard God spoken of as “The Everlasting God” which is translated from the Hebrew El Olam,El meaning God and Olam meaning everlasting or eternal. To all believers the term "Everlasting God”is the belief that God's eternal, unchanging nature, exists beyond the constraints of time. When we look in scripture we can find several places where the term “Everlasting God” is used for example Isaiah 40:28 God is called “The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator” and in Psalm 90 which is a prayer of Moses verse 2  says “Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God”. When Abraham planted a tamarisk tree he called on the ”Everlasting God”(Genesis21:33). Our God is true to His word “He will never leave us or forsake us”(Deut 31:8).

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Our  God is Everlasting

28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.   29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.   30 Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly,

31 Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

(Isaiah 40:28-31)

Popular Christian song Everlasting God arose out of Christian songwriter and worship leader Brenton Brown’s personal experience of God’s inexhaustible strength amid his chronic fatigue.Brown, in his mid twenties at the time, was a worship pastor at a church at Oxford University. He recalls, “things were going well.” He was writing songs and going around witnessing his music and seeing fruit as people were coming to The Lord. In his words: “One morning I woke up and I didn’t feel well. And I thought perhaps I had a cold or a flu. And I sort of waited for it to go away but it didn’t go away after a week, two weeks.”After six months Brown decided to visit the doctor to diagnose his symptoms. It was then that he discovered that he was suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). He started to wonder where God was and to question why this should happen.During that time, Brown was reading the Book of Isaiah. He was comforted by a passage in the 40th chapter  which said “I know where you are. I know who you are. And I know what you are going through. I am the everlasting God. I don’t grow weak or weary. Those who wait on Me will receive strength.”( Isaiah 40:28-31). This passage really inspired him so much that the worship song “Everlasting God was birthed”. Brenton Brown was never healed of his illness but everyday he stands on God's promise and everyday is given the strength to do what God has called him to do. Let's draw encouragement from this story and remember that God ALWAYS keeps His promises.
