Hi All
As Christians we are called to give God the glory in everything we do “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”.(1 Corinthians 10:31). We can give God glory in many ways, one of which is to worship Him, when we worship Him it shows God how much we love and appreciate Him for His creation, blessings, and guidance.
Worship is a way to acknowledge God's goodness and thank Him for His many gifts. Nothing we could ever do or say could ever be enough to thank God for all he does, but when we worship Him “in spirit and truth” {John 4:24) and with a pure heart it pleases Him greatly as scripture tells us “Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name”.(Psalm 100:4) When we realise that we deserve nothing and He gives us everything … giving Him all in our worship and praise should come naturally to us. As the old Hymn says
“To God be the Glory, great things He hath done” Amen !
Praise The Lord Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. 2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. 3 Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. 4 Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
(Psalms 150)
Praise is not true praise unless it comes from the very depths of our hearts and we must worship with sincerity. Our worship is about us giving something back to God and we worship God for who He is, the eternal Creator, robed in light.We praise Him because He is sovereign over us and for His marvelous qualities which are limitless. When we spend time in worship whether it be through prayer or by singing His praises it helps us become closer to Him and can strengthen our connection with Him.
There are many reasons to worship and praise God but first and foremost it shows Him that we love and appreciate Him. When we turn to God and worship Him in times of trial,it lifts our spirits and although our circumstances may not change how we deal with them will He will as He gives us a peace that “transcends all understanding”(Phillipians}
