The Daily Nugget
Hi All
As believers we are all familiar with the phrase “Give us this day our daily bread”(Matthew 6:11 and Luke 11:3) this phrase is drawn from what is known as “The Lord's Prayer” WHERE Jesus was giving His disciples a blueprint of how to pray. When we ask The Lord for our “daily bread”we are asking Him to provide for us and meet our needs on a daily basis and it shows Him that we are dependent on Him everyday.
Scripture tells us “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.(Philippians 4:19), and God never goes back on His promises. When we ask God for “our daily bread” we are asking for more than just sustenance. We are asking Him to provide everything we will need to get us through the day and we can be confident that He will supply all we need.

Our Daily Bread
Give us this day our daily bread
(Matthew 6:11)
The model prayer Jesus gave us begins with prayer for God's Glory ... That His name be hallowed, His kingdom come and His will be done. The remainder of this model is made up of our own personal petitions that result not only in God's glory, but in our own good.
First we ask for our heavenly Father's provision…"Give us this day our daily bread". Rather than approaching Him with an independent and groundless spirit of self sufficiency,we should acknowledge that we need to depend on Him to meet our basic daily needs. It is also worth noting here that the petition is for daily bread. Remember that the manna fell daily for the children of Israel in the wilderness and it was edible only on that day. Just as God wanted His people to look to Him daily ,He wants us also to look to Him each day for our daily bread, the food we need and for the sustenance of His Word which is The Bread of Life. Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.(John 6:35).
Thank You Lord for giving us “Our Daily Bread” !
