The Daily Nugget
Hi All
In the bible there are so many scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments telling us to be grateful to God one of which is Psalm 107:1 which tells us “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting”, then we have Psalm 100 which is dedicated to giving God grateful praise. As believers to show gratitude we need to develop a grateful attitude giving thanks to God for our blessings through prayer and worship. We also need to thank people in our lives who live and support us everyday. In the book of Acts Luke reminds us to help the weak and he also quotes the words of Jesus who said 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"(Acts 20:35). When we help those around us who are in need or less fortunate than ourselves we are showing gratitude to God for His provision because "God’s giving deserves our thanksgiving".
Be Blessed and Encouraged
An Attitude of Gratitude
1 It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night.
(Psalm 92:1-2).
How lovely it is when someone shows appreciation for something we may have done, however small that thing may seem, it really boosts us when somebody takes the time to say a simple thanks or well done. How wonderful would it be if we all lived with “An Attitude of Gratitude”, sadly however in our world today this can be something of a rarity, that is why we can seem surprised when somebody does make us feel valued. In the bible Jesus told a parable to highlight the importance of living with a grateful heart. The parable can be found in Luke 17 where it tells of Jesus healing ten lepers but only one came back to thank Him and he was a Samaritan who fell at Jesus feet and gave thanks(Luke 17:11-19).As we look around us,we will see people in our life who have gone out of their way to invest in us, to provide for us or to be a blessing to us. Let's take a moment out of our day just to say thanks to them.
