The Daily Nugget
Hi All
In the book of Hebrews we are encouraged to “continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name”.(Hebrews 13:15). A “sacrifice of praise” is an offering of praise and worship that calls for us to sacrifice pride, fear and self interest and show a willingness to put God first. Worship and praise should become a lifestyle for all believers as we learn to acknowledge God's goodness and His faithfulness in all our circumstances good or bad because no matter what we go through in the midst there is always something to be thankful to God for.(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Sacrifice of Praise
1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
(Psalm 34:1-3)
When we read Paul's letter to the Romans he advises and encourages his readers to present themselves before God as “a living sacrifice”,but sometimes if we are honest this can prove difficult especially in times of trial when we start to think “why has God allowed this” and even begin to think He has deserted us. In these circumstances we can take heart from David who declared “His praise shall continually be in my mouth”(Psalm 34:1)and this was written at a time when he was going through great turmoil. To praise God especially in hard times shows Him that we trust His plans for our lives and we know He will provide for us and protect us no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in Thank You Lord !
