The Daily Nugget

Hi All

In the world we live today it can be so easy to become discouraged when doing the work of God when we seem to be getting nowhere and everywhere we turn we seem to be up against it. This is not  unique to us, the Bible is full of stories of people who were up against it whilst serving The Lord and one such person was  Jeremiah the prophet who came to be known as the weeping prophet. Jeremiah was beaten and imprisoned, thrown into a muddy tank and had his writings cut up and burned. However He remained faithful even though he wept and didn't understand what was going on, he stood on the promises God made to him like“Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”(Jeremiah 33:3)Like Jeremiah we can do our best and have little to show for it but just as he did with Jeremiah God will bless our efforts for His Glory Amen!

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Don't Be Discouraged

But you, dress yourself for work; arise, and say to them everything that I command you. Do not be dismayed by them, lest I dismay you before them.

(Jeremiah 1:17)

The book of Jeremiah can be broken down into three sections in chapter 1 Jeremiah is called to be a prophet, chapters 2-51 we read his sermons and chapter 52 tells of the fall of Jerusalem.Jeremiah the prophet lived during the final stages of his nation Judah but despite all his efforts not many people responded to his message, but through it all he remained faithful and his sermons have sustained people for around 2500 years. Like Jeremiah we can be taken out of our comfort zone and called to serve in difficult areas and all we can do is be obedient. We are not responsible for how the message of Christ is received, all we are called to do is to be faithful to what The Lord wants from us,we can take heart from the story of Jeremiah as even though his message seemed to fall on deaf ears and hardened hearts God used Him in mighty ways. Like Jeremiah God will do the same for us because work for The Lord is never done in vain!
