Hi All

One of the core beliefs of Christianity is that earth is not our home,we are merely passing through because we have an eternal home in heaven where we will dwell for eternity with God. This belief is deeply rooted in scripture where Jesus speaks in John 14:2-3 of preparing a place for us where He says. “In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also”.In the Bible heaven is described as a “better country” (Hebrews 11:16), “a kingdom that won't be shake”(Hebrews 12:28) and we are also told that is “where our citizenship truly is”(Phillip and 3:20).These scriptures confirm that heaven is eternal and secure unlike our temporary earthly homes. As believers we are not earthly people trying to get to heaven NO we are heavenly people on earth until we are called home.

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Our True Home

13 All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.   14 For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.   15 And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had the opportunity to return.   16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

(Hebrews 11:13-16)

There is an old gospel song written in 1931,by AP Carter a Christian musician, called “This World is Not My Home”, Carter drew from the biblical reference where we are warned against “storing up treasures on earth”(Matthew 6:19-21) and  as Christians we should embrace the biblical view that heaven is our True Home. The writer of the letter to the Hebrews  told us of many  heroes of the faith who lived as “strangers and pilgrims on the earth” (Hebrews 11:13). They were looking for a “better” home, “that is, a heavenly country” which would be their eternal  home. They believed God “has prepared a city for them” and (Hebrews 11:16). As believers we also have a place prepared for us where we will one day dwell, until then ask God to make our homes a doorway to heaven for all who cross our doorstep.
