Tne Daily Nugget- Prayer Is A Gift
Hi All
God blesses us with so much and one of the greatest things He has given us is the gift of prayer and when we pray we should always do so with a heart full of gratitude and praise. Jesus taught us through The Lord's prayer(Matthew 6:9-13) to begin and end our prayers with praise. In a sense, our praise to God is to be like bookends, which are used to support the books in between them. Our praise should do the same for our prayers, that's why we should start and end with praise. When we place the bookends of Praise against our prayers,we tell God what He means to us and we acknowledge who He is and all He does for us everyday. When we worship, praise and pray that is when we feel the presence of The Lord the most. No matter what we are going through, The Lord is who we must hang onto,as scripture tells us“But you are to cling to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.”(Joshua 23:8)
What a wonderful gift prayer is Thank You Lord !
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Prayer Is A Gift
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died-more than that, who was raised-who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
(Romans 8:26-34)
Both the Spirit and the Son are interceding (praying) for us. The Spirit helps us when we don’t know how to pray, praying for us according to the will of God (Romans 8:26–27). Likewise the Son is interceding for us from “the right hand of God” (Romans 8:34). How wonderful to know that two of the three members of the Trinity are praying for us! But what about the Father? It is the Father who calls us to be part of His family. It is out of His love for us that He sent His Son to die for our sins and then raised Him to life so that we would one day be glorified and given all things. It is in the love of God that the Spirit and the Son pray for us.
Just as we have The Lord and The Spirit praying for us,we need to do the same for others. All around us are people who need us to follow Jesus’s example and love them with our prayers, inviting God’s help and intervention in their lives. We can ask God to help us pray for them, and He will! May our loving Lord use us to pray for those around us who are in need Amen!
