Studying the Word of God is essential for spiritual growth as it provides us with guidance and wisdom.When God's character is revealed through scripture it gradually transforms us and changes how we act and think. To all believers The Bible is a guide that strengthens us during hard times,builds our faith and prepares us for the good works “God has prepared for us in advance”(Ephesians2:10). When we read the word it tells us of God's promises and assures us He will keep them.If we study God's word with real purpose and desire it enables us to draw closer in our personal relationship with Him !

Why The Word ?

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.   (Romans 10:17)

19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.   20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destruction. 

(Psalm 107:19-20)

In the famous and epic movie The Ten Commandments, whenever Pharaoh would make a decision or issue a command, he would say with authority “So let it be written; so let it be done!” The royal scribes would dutifully record the Pharaoh’s words for posterity. The message was clear: Pharaoh’s words were powerful; they were the guiding force in Egypt. 

In an even more authoritative way, the words of God are alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12).By His words, God spoke into existence the earth and everything in it. In John 1:1-2Jesus is called the Word of God which means He is “the word made flesh”(John 1:14).In 2 Peter 1:4 Peter tells us that by God's words( His great and precious promises),we become “partakers of a divine nature” and Paul tells us that faith comes by “hearing the word of God”(Romans 20:17).

When we allow the “Spirit” to light up the Word of God on a daily basis, we begin to gain power and maturity in our spiritual life.
