The Daily Nugget- Thanks Be To God

Hi All

When we look around us everyday we have so much to be thankful to God for because every good thing comes from God whether it be big or small all our daily blessings are God given “ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows”(James 1:17). When we go about the hustle and bustle of our daily lives it can be so easy to forget that without God we are nothing and have nothing. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us “in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus”. Let's take a moment each day in the midst of our routine to pause and give thanks to The Lord.

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Thanks Be To God

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

(2 Thessalonians 2:13)

1 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. 3 Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. 5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

(Psalms 100)

As believers we have a God who blesses us everyday that is why we should live with a spirit of thankfulness, where we pause to say “thank you Lord” throughout the day.Whether we are going through good times or bad there is always something to thank God for.

As we go about our day we can notice the colour of flowers, the shape of clouds, the smell of fresh bread, and the comfort of a soft pillow at night.Thanksgiving is the opposite of grumbling, the direct opposite of fault-finding, and a way to eradicate a complaining spirit.

The Bible tells us to replace “foolish talking” and “coarse jesting” with “giving of thanks” (Ephesians 5:4).Gratitude leads to “glad-itude.” Counting our blessings is a positive step toward erasing our heartaches, we are told in the scripture to “Devote ourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving”(Colossians 4:2). Giving thanks to God is a key part in our Christian walk because no matter what season we may be in there is always something to thank The Lord for and show our appreciation to Him. Amen !
