Hi All
When we speak of revelation from a Christian point of view, we refer to how God makes Himself known to us. One way we can gain revelation of God is simply by looking around us at the beauty of His natural creation. God also reveals Himself to us through dreams, visions and the inner presence of The Holy Spirit. The greatest revelation we receive however is through The Bible which is His living and active word in which Jesus Christ is central. As believers we need to be constantly “Hungry” to receive revelation from God, just as David stated in Psalm 63:1 “O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water”.
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Feed On The Word
Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.
(Jeremiah 15:16)
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.
(Hebrews 5:12-14)
According to doctors and food experts, if we miss meals it can have a long term effect on our eating habits, leading us to crave certain foods most of which are unhealthy like those high in sugar and carbohydrates.
Just as missing meals can have a negative impact on our bodies, if we start to miss our time reading the Bible and with God,we can gradually lose our spiritual appetite and allow our minds to be filled with unhealthy thoughts and negativity.
Feeding ourselves spiritually can vary.Sometimes we just need something light and easy to digest like the Proverbs and others times we crave something more substantial so we may choose to read passages from Romans or Corinthians. There may also be times when we want to get our teeth into “The Psalms” or The Sermon On The Mount”. The Bible is like a food cupboard for our souls and when we hunger and thirst for scripture God will richly feed and sustain us with His nourishing words. Let’s ask God to give us a hunger for His word and the desire to use it in our daily walk.
