The Daily Nugget- Passionate Prayer
Hi All
For a Christian to pray passionately means to give God our full heart, mind, and attention,coming before Him with honesty.When we pray we should hold nothing back,sincerely bringing to God our hopes,fears, doubts,pain,our joys and our burdens.The words we use in our prayers don't have to be perfect and our prayers don't always have to be long and drawn out,because God is more interested in the passion with which we bring them.Scripture tells us that when we pray fervently with belief our prayers can achieve so much(James 5:16).There is nothing more powerful than a passionate prayer coming from the depth of our souls.
Be Blessed And Encouraged
Passionate Prayer
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
(Romans 8:26)
When it comes to prayer we have people who pray long powerful passionate prayers and we have others whose prayers can be short and pointed.In Luke we read of the Pharisee with his boastful prayer compared to tax collector who simply prayed “Lord have mercy on me a sinner”.Simon Peter when sinking in the sea simply cried out “Lord save me”(Matthew 14:30) and Genesis tells us of how Jacob wrestled with God crying out to God “I will not let you go until you bless me”(Genisis 32:26).
Just before His arrest and crucifixion Jesus prays long and powerfully asking God to protect His followers, a prayer known as “The High Priestly Prayer” which is found in John 17:1-12. Daniel was also a great prayer warrior and in Daniel chapter 9 we read his long and passionate
prayer for His people.
It is not the length of our prayers, but the depth of our prayers that make them effective,the depth of our trust in God knowing that He hears us and will answer according to His good and perfect will.
