The Daily Nugget- Our Kingdom Inheritance

Hi All

As born again believers we have an inheritance in Christ but what does this actually mean ? Our inheritance in Christ encompasses all the spiritual blessings and eternal rewards that are promised to believers in Jesus. It's a rich and glorious inheritance, including adoption as God's children, forgiveness of sins, and eternal life in His kingdom. This inheritance is a gift from God, a testament to His love and grace, and is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit. As Scripture tells us our inheritance is imperishable “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you”.(1 Peter 1:3-4). When we receive our inheritance in Christ we are adopted into God's family, becoming heirs of God and co-heirs with Jesus(Romans 8:16-17)Thank You Lord!

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Our Kingdom Inheritance

"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

(Matthew 25:34)

In Matthew 25:34, Jesus describes a moment of profound invitation and joy: “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.’”

This verse highlights a central truth of the gospel: salvation is not something we earn, but a gift we receive. The word “inheritance” is key here. An inheritance is given because of a relationship, not because of work. Through Jesus, we are invited into God’s family(Ephesians 1:5), and as His children, we have a share in the kingdom he has prepared for us.

The imagery of a kingdom “prepared since the creation of the world” reminds us of God’s eternal plan. Before time began, God desired a relationship with us and made a way for that relationship to be restored through Jesus. This inheritance is available not because of anything we can achieve but because of God’s grace, freely given to all who believe.

Our inheritance guarantees us that we are adopted into the family of God, that our sins are  forgiven and that we have the helper(Holy Spirit) living within us(John 14:16-17),our inheritance is a collection of blessings given to us by the grace of God.
