The Daily Nugget- Our King And Lord

Hi All

In scripture Jesus is given the title “King of Kings and Lord of Lords”(Revelation 17:14; 19:16),and as Christians we proclaim Jesus as King because He possesses ultimate authority and rules over heaven and earth with divine sovereignty. There is no human government, army, or power that stands above Him, and all creation ultimately answers to His rule and unlike earthly kings who conquer through violence, Jesus established His eternal kingdom through sacrifice, humility, and resurrection.

Be Blessed And Encouraged

Our King And Lord

These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

(Revelation 17:14)

The title King of Kings and Lord of Lords is prominent in the book of Revelation, where we read that Jesus has this name written on His robe and thigh(Revelation 19:16).The concept of supreme sovereignty goes back to the old testament where God declares “For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe”.

(Deuteronomy 10:17) and we read in Daniel 2:21”He changes times and seasons,he removes kings and sets up kings,he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding”.

We live in a world where anything goes and the truth is whatever someone believes it to be,where people are “cancelled” for going against the popular narrative of the day and there seems nothing but darkness all around. It would be so easy to get overwhelmed BUT as believers scripture tells us we have a saviour who has dominion over all creation"For in him all things were created things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him(Colossians 1:16).

When we read this verse we are given the hope and assurance that every part of creation comes under Christ's supreme authority and that one day “every knee will bow down and every tongue will confess” that Jesus is Lord(2 Phillipians:10-11).To quote from an old hymn “All hail King Jesus, all hail Emmanuel. King of kings, Lord of Lords. Bright morning star”. Amen !
