The Daily Nugget-Our Battle
Hi All
Whether we are aware of it or not, all Christians are in a battle everyday, but this battle is not a physical one,no the battle we face everyday is one of a spiritual nature(Ephesians 6:12)and our enemy is the devil, who prowls like a roaring lion looking to destroy us(1Peter 5:8).Thanks to Jesus' blood being spilt at Calvary our battle has already been won.
Jesus Himself said “if you continue in my word,,,,the truth will set you free”(John 8:31-32). It is only by knowing God's truth that we can be victorious over anything the enemy may challenge us with. Next time we feel we are being tempted we should turn to scripture just as Jesus did in the wilderness(Matthew 4:1-11).
Be Blessed And Encouraged
Our Battle
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
(Ephesians 6:10-17)
Paul’s description of the believer’s spiritual armour in Ephesians 6:10-17 would suggest warfare and during warfare there will usually be captives. In spiritual warfare however there are no physical conflicts or any captives taken. For Christians “spiritual battle” is the belief in an ongoing, unseen conflict between believers and evil spiritual forces (Satan, demons) for a person's soul, focusing on the mind and heart, fought not with physical weapons but with faith, prayer, scripture, and the "armor of God," with victory ultimately secured by Jesus Christ's triumph over evil. It involves resisting temptation, renewing the mind with God's truth, and relying on divine strength, rather than fearing the enemy, as the battle is already won in heaven.
Hold fast to your faith, and guard your heart(Proverbs 4:23). Walk in peace toward everyone, and memorize Scripture so that way you can wield it as a weapon against any spiritual attack that comes your way. And know that no matter what you face,God is already fighting for you.He is in control, and He will never leave you nor forsake you(Hebrews 13:5)
