The Daily Nugget- Joy In Unity

Hi All

In Christianity the joy of unity in The Lord is a shared harmony amongst believers that reflects the Triune nature of God. Psalm 133:1 tells us “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity”! This togetherness is a divine gift from God that refreshes our souls, creates spiritual growth and is a great testimony of Christ's love for the world.

Joy In Unity

20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;   21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;   23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

(John 17:20-23)

In John 17 immediately after the last supper Jesus prayed  what is known as the High Priestly Prayer, The  above passage is where Jesus asked that his followers be united in the same way the Father and the Son are united. He emphasized that this spiritual oneness would prove his divine mission to the world. When believers are in unity with each other it brings harmony and joy and reflects the perfect relationship between The Father,Son and Holy Spirit.  In Philippians 2:1-4 Paul expresses that joy is fulfilled through Christians being like-minded and unselfish putting others above themselves,serving each other in love and humility. 

In a sin-filled world when believers are united it acts as a powerful witness for God, because by being in joyful harmony we are displaying His very nature .
