The Daily Nugget- Jesus The Light

As His children God loves to bless us and He blesses us in many ways like protecting us, providing for us and guiding us, but He also gave us His word in the form of Jesus to light our path and lead us from “darkness” into the “light” if we don't know Jesus as our saviour we walk in spiritual darkness. Jesus himself said “ I am the light of the world,whoever follows me shall not walk in darkness but will have the light of life”(John 8 :12).Our Lord wants to lead us out of the darkness into His light all we have to do is be willing to follow Him.

9 Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.   10 But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."  

 (John 11:9-10, NASB)

In biblical times, working and socialising during the day was easy because of sunlight; at night, life was severely limited. Jesus used this reality to explain spiritual light and darkness (John 11:9-10). For twelve hours of the day, He said, the sun made social life possible. For the other twelve hours, stumbling was likely. So it is in spiritual matters. Jesus said He is the Light of the World (John 8:12), meaning He makes spiritual life possible all the time if we walk in His light. If not, we will stumble in the dark. 

The good news is that darkness cannot prevent light from shining. Even the smallest light can enlighten a dark place—like a single candle in the depths of a pitch-black cave. In the beginning, Genesis tells us, “darkness was on the face of the deep” (1:2). That physical darkness was dispelled by the creation of the heavenly lights (Genesis 1:14-18). The apostle John builds on that theme to talk about the dispelling of spiritual darkness when Jesus came into the world. Jesus said He was the Light of the world, then told us we are as well (Matthew 5:14-16).

When we walk in the light of Jesus we will not stumble and His light is always available to us !
