The Daily Nugget- Fixed On Jesus

Hi All

If we really want to “fix our eyes on Jesus” as our text encourages us to do, we need to immerse ourselves in Scripture, especially the gospels. The four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) all narrate the life and teachings of Jesus, but each offers a unique perspective and emphasis. They focus on Jesus's divine status, miracles, teachings, betrayal, death, resurrection, and post-resurrection events.Regularly reading and meditating on God's Word helps us align our thoughts and priorities with His, we should also fellowship with other believers to encourage and support one another. When we focus totally on Jesus it can bring peace, unity, and a sense of purpose to our life. It can also help us to navigate challenges and find strength in times of difficulty. What a comfort that is to all believers as Jesus Himself said in Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Fixed On Jesus

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(Hebrews 12:2)

“Fixing our eyes” does not mean merely glancing at Jesus now and again. Fixing our eyes demands all our attention. We need to look at Jesus with a laser focus. To enable us to fully focus on Jesus we really have to get to know Him and who He is, but no matter how much time we have it would never be enough to fully unravel who Jesus is, in fact we will hardly scratch the surface. One of the best ways of learning as much as possible about The Lord is to spend time in the scriptures and

meditating on what we read.True meditation stems from a place of delight. When we treasure God's Word, we are rooted like a "tree firmly planted by streams of water," yielding strength and peace regardless of your circumstances(Psalm 1:3).

The more we learn to focus on Jesus and His word the more we gain understanding of the depth of love He has for us and the magnitude of the sacrifice He made for us when He went to the cross. If we fully  understand these things our hearts are truly stirred and our worship becomes more than just a rush of feelings, it becomes an expression of true love, with roots that are grounded in reality, To quote a wonderful worship song :-

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in His wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace”

AMEN !
