The Daily Nugget-Delight And Trust In The Lord

When we choose to “trust” and delight in The Lord it means that we are putting all our confidence in God's character and as we do so we find ourselves experiencing a deep and joyful satisfaction,knowing that we can trust His faithfulness. When we commit all our ways to Him we have an unexplainable internal peace(Philippians 4:7)we find our thoughts and desires starting  to align with the will of God for our lives.When we choose to trust God and open our hearts to His plans for us,we are able to walk hand in hand with The Lord(Isaiah 41:13) enjoying every blessing of His presence with us.

Delight  And Trust In The Lord

3 Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.   4 Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.   5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it.

(Psalm 37:3-5)

When we look at the passage above we are given two clear instructions.

First we are called to “trust in The Lord and do good”,which means surrendering to His will and His ways and when we do good it glorifies God and demonstrates our total surrender to Him. We are also told to “delight ourselves in The Lord” and by doing so we are promised that He will give us the desires of our hearts. What an amazing promise ! This does not mean that God will give us all the things we desire,but it does mean that God will put in our hearts the desires He wants us to have, to enable us to walk on the path He has set out for us,because as scripture tells us “His ways are always higher than ours” (Isaiah 5:8-9).

Delighting  and trusting in the Lord provides all believers with a deep, lasting peace irrespective of our circumstances and offers us an assurance and a stability we won't find in worldly pursuits.
