The Daily Nugget- Daily Provision
Hi All
As we go about our daily lives we can do so safely in the knowledge that God will provide everything we need.God's daily provision is a core theme of faith, promising that every need, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual,is met a day at a time. This comfort encourages living free from anxiety by focusing on the present, trusting that grace and sustenance will be supplied exactly when required. This fulfils the promise given in Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” .
Be Blessed And Encouraged
Daily Provision
Give us this day our daily bread.(Matthew 6:11)
It is hard to imagine a shorter verse of Scripture that contains a larger history and summary of the dependence of God’s people upon Him: “Give us this day our daily bread.” Those are the words of instruction Jesus taught His disciples to pray in “The Lord’s Prayer.” The attentive disciple, upon hearing those words, would have immediately remembered the account of God’s provision in the wilderness for the redeemed Hebrew slaves.
For almost forty years, God provided manna for the Israelites to eat—a seed or grain-like substance on which they subsisted (Exodus 16). But that provision was a test of their faith in God’s promise to provide (Exodus 16:4).They were to gather daily what they needed for only that day. In the same way, Jesus taught His disciples not to worry about tomorrow, but to trust God every day for daily bread (Matthew 6:25-34). He reminded them that worrying brings nothing; faith in God brings provision.
If you have a need, don’t let anxiety replace your faith, because if we worry are we really trusting God as we should ? We are told in scripture “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”(Philippians 4:6-7)
When we choose to trust in God we must also have the faith to believe that He will fulfil His promises or as the author of Hebrews put it “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”(Hebrews 11:1).
Our God truly is our “Jehovah Jirah”,the one who provides Amen !
