Hi All

As Christians we use prayer as a way of communicating with God and when we praise and worship Him it is our way of showing Him we love Him and giving thanks for all He does for us.Jesus taught us through The Lord's prayer to begin and end our prayers with praise at the start we exalt Him and acknowledge He is sacred by praying “ Hallowed by thy Name” and when we finish we bring everything back to God and His glory when we pray “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen”. We have a God who always listens to our prayers, so when we pray let's remember to give Him praise for who He is and give Him thanks for what He will do..

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Prayer and Praise

5 "When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.   6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.   7 "And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.

(Matthew 6:5-7)

The greatest weapon in the Christian armoury is prayer but if we are honest, we don't always pray as we should or how we would like, but we are not alone in this as the disciples asked Jesus to “teach us how to pray”(Luke 11:1).Jesus  answered them with the guidelines for what has become known as  “The Lord's Prayer” or the “Disciples Prayer”( Luke 11:2-4). In His Sermon on the Mount Jesus devoted a great deal of time to teachings on prayer and "The Lord's Prayer”can be found in Matthew 6:9-13. Prayer like anything else requires discipline and the best way of learning how to pray is to pray.

Praise and thanksgiving are found throughout Scripture in psalms and in prayers. In the New Testament some of the epistles begin with words of praise to God (2 Corinthians 1:3; Ephesians 1:3; 1 Peter 1:3).Whenever we pray we should do so from a place of gratitude and thanks and in alignment with the plans God has for us. When we are going through trials we should always turn first  to God in prayer. “Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken”(Psalm 55:22). Thank You Lord !
