The Daily Nugget
Hi All
There are times in life where we go through trials and experience pain and hardship and sometimes we may ask why God ? Our God loves us , but because we are sinners He may allow us to experience difficulties, because He knows that by allowing us to experience failure, pain, and struggle, we will grow stronger in our faith and to become closer to Him and further away from our old sinful nature. One biblical example is the apostle Paul who experienced a “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12:7-11)and on three occasions he asked God to remove it to which God repliedAnd "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Just as He did with Paul, God will use our struggles to strengthen us. We can also use our experiences to help and support others going through similar issues. When we are in the midst of trials we struggle to understand the reasons God allows them, but when we look back we realise that they grow us and make us stronger in our faith.
James in his epistle explains it this way “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing”.(James 1:2-4)
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Dealing With Trials
1 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. 3 Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. 5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.
(Psalms 100)
When we’re going through difficulties, we may struggle to find reasons to be grateful and praise God, but no matter what we are going through there WILL ALWAYS be something to be thankful to God for. When we read Psalm 100 we find reasons to praise God regardless of our circumstances, in verse 3 the author David writes “Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture” (Psalm 100:3) adding in verse 5For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” (Psalm 100:5). Whenever we are feeling broken and crushed, the knowledge that God is with us should bring us great comfort. “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.(Psalm 34:18). The more time we spend in scripture the easier it is to “ enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise”(Psalm 100:4)regardless of our circumstances.
