The Daily Nugget
Hi All
In the bible Jesus promises to send a "Helper" or "Comforter" to his followers(John 14:16-17).The helper Jesus promised is the “Holy Spirit” who will guide us, teach us and remind believers of how Jesus is our advocate who intercedes with God on our behalf(Romans 8:34).The “Holy Spirit” has the authority to empower and transform all believers when we submit to Him.When we submit to the “Holy Spirit”it leads to a closer fellowship with God one where we are justified and reconciled. Our reconciliation is made possible only because of the sacrifice Jesus made for us,but it is the Holy Spirit who applies this to believers by helping them understand and accept the reconciliation offered through Christ and to enable us to experience forgiveness, grace and a restored relationship with God.(2 Corinthians 5:18-19)
Be Blessed and Encouraged
The Authority of The “Helper”
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
(1 Corinthians 12:3”)
Sadly in a lot of churches today the word of God has been “watered down” or “adapted” so as not to offend and to make it pleasing on the ear of those hearing it just as the bible stated (2 Peter 4:3-4). For the word of God to be effective it has to be spoken with the authority of the “Holy Spirit” only then will it have a lasting impact in people's lives .The modern church asks for the “Spirit” but can quench it because of fear of what he might do..they only want a controlled version ...not the experience of pentecost. When the power and authority of the “Holy Spirit” arrives things happen ! The “Holy Spirit” authenticates what we believe about the scriptures and about The Lord. The “Holy Spirit” inspired biblical authors, revealing God's truth and guiding them in writing Scripture and He continues to illuminate the meaning of Scripture for believers today.
The main thing the church needs today is the authority of The “Holy Spirit”...not programmes or gimmicks.Only when scripture is preached with the authority of the “Holy Spirit” will people gain proper understanding and be given true revelation. Whatever we do for God without the “Holy Spirit”, it will bear no fruit, but with His guidance great things happen Amen !
