Hi All

In John 14 Jesus tell His disciples ”whatever you ask in my name this I will do”this is something carried on into our prayers today and it has become something we tend to tag on to the end of all our prayers, but it means so much more. When we pray in “Jesus’ Name” we should pray with the same authority Jesus did and in the same manner.Praying in Jesus' Name means approaching God the Father through the authority and merit of Jesus Christ, recognizing Him as the mediator and advocate. For believers Jesus is the only way to access the Father as he states in John 14:6 “no one comes to the Father except through me” so when we pray in “Jesus’ Name” we are displaying  a genuine expression of faith and dependence on Jesus.

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Praying in Jesus Name

13 Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.   14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

(John 14:13-14)

23 On that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.   24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

(John 16:23-24)

In the scriptures above Jesus is making a promise to His disciples that He will grant them whatever they ask for in His name. The same applies to us today, but praying in Jesus' Name” must be done as a declaration of faith and dependence on Jesus for our prayers to be answered and in doing so we also acknowledge His divine authority both in heaven and on earth. When we pray in “Jesus’ Name” it implies that the prayer is offered with a desire to align with God's will, as Jesus taught his disciples to pray, "Your will be done". Jesus is our high priest who intercedes for us before God. “Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them”.(Hebrews 7:25). When we pray in “Jesus’ Name”it is a way to honour Him  and acknowledge His role in God's plan for salvation. However the ultimate reason to pray in “Jesus’ Name” must always be seeking God's glory and furthering His kingdom Amen !
