Hi All

We as Christians believe that God is our “Firm Foundation” which gives us an unwavering basis for faith and life, often represented by Jesus Christ, a precious cornerstone, or God's Word. This theme appears in passages like Isaiah 28:16 ("a sure foundation") and 2 Timothy 2:19 ("God's firm foundation stands"), and is reflected in the widely known hymn "How Firm a Foundation". Believers who build their lives on God, rather than external circumstances, can find security and stability.”He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."(Psalm 91:1-2,)

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Firm Foundations

24 "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock”.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy is known for both its beauty and its defects. The structure leans because it was built on a mixture of clay, sand, and shells. As the bell tower was being built, the ground shifted beneath the foundation. Great effort and expense have been put forth to prevent the Tower of Pisa from leaning any further so that it can remain a popular tourist attraction. Whilst the “Leaning Tower” may be a spectacular sight, the last thing we would want is for our own homes to slip or crumble, that is why structural engineers and builders are very careful to ensure every building is built on a firm foundation. When it comes to our faith it also has to be built on a firm foundation so that we  don't crumble when in times of trouble and as believers  Jesus Christ is the firm foundation we build on as He is the Cornerstone( Ephesians 2:19-22) on which our faith is built.Jesus ends the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7( 24-29) with a powerful illustration of two builders, one wise, the other foolish. The wise one builds his house on rock, symbolising a life built on the solid foundation of God’s truth. The foolish builder, however, builds his house on sand, representing a life built without regard to God’s Word. But just as in life, “the rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat” on both homes. None of us are immune  to life’s troubles, but as long as we are like the wise builder and our faith has solid foundations built around Christ The Solid Rock we can stand strong against anything.
