The Daily Nugget- We The Church

Hi All

In the Bible, the word "church" (Greek: ekklesia) refers to the assembly or community of believers in Jesus, not just a physical building. Jesus established a "congregation" or "assembly" of people who followed his teachings and became his disciples. He referred to this community as "his church" and as Christians today we are “The Church”. Being “the church” means more than just attending on a Sunday, as the “church” we are called to carry church values outside the four walls and with us into our daily lives to care and be cared for this is what makes followers of Jesus stand out in this secular world we live in.

The building  is where we gather as The Lord's  people, but we are the church. Acts 20:28 tells us “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood”. We have an obligation to show God's love wherever we go, church is not what we do, it should be a way of life. For some people us as the “church” may be the only family they have.

Be Blessed and Encouraged

We The Church

40 But Paul chose Silas and left, being committed by the brethren to the grace of the Lord.   41 And he was travelling through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

(Acts 15:40-41)

To bloom where we’re planted, we need to be the best version of who we are wherever we are, and that includes the church we attend. We should be a strengthening influence in our local churches. The apostle Paul was intent on strengthening the Body of Christ, and Acts 15:41 brings up a good question: As we go through life, are we strengthening the church we attend?

So how can we as individuals help to”strengthen” our church ? This can be done in many different ways here are just a few…

We strengthen the church when we attend regularly, as often as possible.

We can strengthen the church when we’re warm and supportive in our attitude toward all the other members and toward the leaders.

We can strengthen the church when we volunteer for those church-related ministries the Lord puts on our hearts.

We can strengthen the church when we pray for our congregation.

When Jesus returned to heaven, He only ordained one organization to continue His work on earth,His Church. How wonderful we can do as Paul did by going around strengthening the Church.

All strong Churches are built on four pillars Prayer,Fellowship,Breaking Bread and Teaching Gospel, but most importantly they have love at its Heart.
