The Daily Nugget- Time To Meditate

In Timothy 2:16-17we are told “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. For any Christian, spending time in the word of God is vital if we want to deepen our relationship with Him,as we gain a deeper understanding and we are given spiritual guidance.

Time To Meditate
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
(Psalm 1:2-3)
In the bible there are many scriptures which teach us the importance of studying the word of God.One such passage is today's scripture in which The psalmist teaches us the importance of meditating on Scripture (Psalms 1:2-3). We should dwell on it daily, focusing our attention on God’s character and ways and spending time just in silence so we can hear what The Lord wants to say to us. This is not always easy as there are so many distractions around us that can shift our focus,but if we really have a deep desire and hunger for God He will make a way for us. This may mean we have to get up a little earlier in the morning or we may have to sacrifice some of our precious free time, but the rewards of doing so will far outweigh the sacrifices we make. When God called Joshua into battle after the death of Moses He commanded Joshua to meditate on the word. “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success”.(Joshua 1:8).
As we take time to meditate and study the word we become more aware of His presence and power around us and that leads to us having a greater hunger for the word.
