The Daily Nugget- The Authority Of The Holy Spirit

Hi All

The authority of the Holy Spirit in Christianity is a divine power within us that works alongside Jesus to empower believers, reveal divine truth, and enable spiritual life.This authority manifests as conviction, guidance, spiritual gifts (like prophecy, teaching, healing), and the power to live righteously, giving believers confidence and the ability to understand God's will and overcome spiritual battles.The Holy Spirit is The Helper Jesus promised(John 14:25-26). Thank You Lord for sending The Holy Spirit to help us teach us and guide us everyday.

The Authority of The Holy Spirit

5 So that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. 6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away;

(1 Corinthians 2:5-6)

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. ..

(1 Corinthians 12:3)

Today we have so many “Churches” who preach a watered down message about Jesus and Christianity for fear of offending,there is no mention of sin or repentance which leads to “superficial faith” which like the house built on sand will crumble as soon as a storm comes along(Matthew 7:26-27). To have “solid faith” it needs to be built on a solid foundation like the house built on the rock(Matthew 7:24-25). Only when we hear the word spoken with the authority of the Holy Spirit can we start to build a strong “solid faith”.

A fundamental belief in Christian theology is that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate author of Scripture, working through human writers like the prophets and the apostles to "breathe" out God's inspired Word, a concept called "inspiration," ensuring the text is both divine and human, verses like 2 Timothy 3:16 which says "All Scripture is God-breathed" is confirmation of this belief. The Spirit not only inspired the writing but also illuminates its meaning for believers today. The Holy Spirit authenticates what we believe about the scriptures and about The Lord. What the church needs most of all today is the authority of The Holy Spirit at its heart,not gimmicks or programmes. Only when scripture is preached with the authority of the holy spirit will people gain proper understanding and be given true revelation and this applies to any ministry because without the authority it will be ineffective!
