The Daily Nugget- Our Sovereign God
Hi All
One of the core beliefs that we as Christians hold is that Our God is sovereign, which means in essence that God is the ultimate authority and ruler over all things. This includes creation, providence, and the salvation of humanity. There are many scriptures that tell us this, for instance, Revelation 4:11 states, "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." In this verse we read that God created everything that exists which proves He is sovereign.
When we understand this and realise that God is in control it makes it so much easier to pray for those in charge. Even when we don't agree with or understand the decisions being made we can still pray for those in charge safe in the knowledge that God is in control. As scripture tells us“Many plans are in a man's heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand”.(Proverbs 19:21).In our own lives when things don't seem to be going our way and we can't figure out why we need to stand on the promises of God as he does “bring all things together for the good of those who love Him” Amen Thank You Lord !

Our Sovereign God
Daniel 4:35: "All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; no one can restrain His hand or say to Him, 'What have You done?'".
Sovereignty of God in Christianity can be defined as the right of God to exercise his ruling power over his creation however He chooses and can be broken into several categories:-
God's Authority:-
God is the supreme ruler, with the right to exercise His rule over all creation.
God's Control:-
God has ultimate control over all things, including the details of life, the weather, and the nations.
God's Presence:-
God is present with His people and throughout His creation, offering loving and gracious oversight.
God's sovereignty is a loving and gracious exercise of power and authority. He uses human means to fulfill His will, while also allowing for human responsibility and free will. As believers we can all be encouraged in knowing that God is a source of comfort and assurance for us all, because we know that He has a plan for our lives and that He will ultimately bring about good from all things even in difficult
circumstances. As the following scriptures confirm our God IS Sovereign Overall:-
"I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things".
(Isaiah 45:7)
“The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps”.
(Proverbs 16:9)
“But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases”.
(Psalm 115:3)
