The Daily Nugget- Joyful Serving

Hi All

When we become born again,we are making a commitment to follow The Lord and His teachings and submit to His will in our lives. We become His servants,Psalm 100:2 tells us “Serve the LORD with gladness,Come before Him with joyful singing”. This verse highlights the attitude we should have when serving The Lord, one of gladness and joy. Serving God should never feel like a burden,NO we should always serve Him faithfully with a spirit of joy and gratitude.

Joyful Serving

10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

For all believers serving God should be seen as a privilege that allows us to participate in the Kingdom of Jesus and reflect His love, which helps to deepen our faith and give joy to others through giving.True service is empowered by God’s grace, done with a willing heart, and brings honour to Him. When we serve others it helps us shift focus from ourselves onto building the Kingdom of God,in doing so we are fulfilling the great commission when Jesus said “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of “ the age”(Matthew 28:18-20).

Doing God's work should be a passion from within that provides us with true  spiritual strength and gives us the “nourishment”we need to sustain us everyday.Jesus said "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work" (John 4:34). As believers we should also carry that same desire within us.
