The Daily Nugget- Jesus Name

One of the key beliefs in Christian doctrine is that we can only be saved by the blood of Jesus and salvation is a gift from God which we are given through our faith in Jesus and guarantees forgiveness of our sin and eternal life. The belief that only Jesus can save us is firmly rooted in scripture mainly Acts 4:12 which tells us “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved”,which confirms Jesus is the only way to God.

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth.(Philippians 2:9-10)

For all believers Jesus is the only mediator between us and God the Father(John 14:6).The name Jesus means “Yahweh saves" or "the Lord is salvation" and takes its origins from the Hebrew Yeshua, it identifies Jesus as the Saviour who rescues people from their sins(Matthew 1:21).It signifies his person, authority, and presence through whom we receive God’s active power for healing, peace, and salvation(which  is considered a free gift of grace through the redemption in Christ, rather than something we can earn).God has a burning desire for us all to be saved as the following scriptures confirm:-

3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.(2 Peter 3:9).

How wonderful to know that no matter what we have done,God still loves us so much !
