The Daily Nugget- Hope From Above
HI All
We live in a crazy mixed up world where anything goes and people can be who they want to be and do what they want to do and God is being pushed out of everything dismissed by so many. All of this is predicted in the bible, but as Christians we have hope and when we focus on heavenly things we are assured that God STILL Reigns ! Our Victory is STILL Certain and God's Word is STILL True. As we are told in scripture
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil”’(Hebrews 6:19).
Be Blessed And Encouraged
Hope From Above
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.
(PSALM 28:7)
When we look at this verse we realise that The Lord is our strength and our shield, no matter what goes on with us,God is with us, which means we can fully trust Him in every situation and don't have to worry because He is able to do what He has promised. As we acknowledge who He is and trust Him we can have peace knowing that He has our backs in every situation.
Alexander Solzhenitsyn(1918 - 2008)was a Russian author and dissident who raised awareness of the plight of the Russian people of the day,for which he was thrown into prison and subjected to 12 hours of hard labour per day whilst living on bread and water, he only survived because he had faith and hope in Jesus that one day he would be freed. He became gravely ill till one day he just couldn't continue,so he collapsed. He became gravely ill and doctors warned that he would die if things didn't change. One afternoon he just couldn't go on anymore so he stopped working, even though he knew that the guards would beat him severely.Just at that moment another prisoner who was also a follower of Jesus approached him.He had a cane in his hand and with his cane he drew a cross in the sand where Solzhenitsyn was lying. When Solzhenitsyn saw the cross he remembered the anguish and torture Jesus went through to die on the cross for him.He realised that it was at the cross where the battle was ultimately won. When he was given this revelation he got up, went back to work and Praise God ultimately survived.
This testimony above is confirmation of the hope we have in our Lord when all seems lost. By God's grace none of us will ever be in such a position that Alexander Solzhenitsyn found himself in, but no matter our battle our victory came through the blood of Jesus!
