The Daily Nugget- God Knows Best
Hi All
We read in scripture that God works all things for the good of those who love Him(Romans 8:28),but if we are honest there will have been times for all of us when it appears that God is actually holding something back.
This may be a job that in our eyes would seem a perfect fit for us, a ministry that we believe to be our calling or a relationship that has failed and there is no sign of resolution.This is because God sees the full picture and always has His reasons. The ultimate “good” for any Christian is a closer relationship with God and our spiritual growth and sometimes we have to endure some hardships and disappointments along the way, but that is when we must trust God as His ways are always higher than ours(Isaiah 55:8-9).

God Knows Best
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all,how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”
(Romans 8 :32)
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
(Psalm 84:11).
In the above verse the “sun and the shield” represent a picture of God's overall provision and protection and whilst He will not withhold any good thing, He will also withhold anything that may not be good for us.
The idea that God withholds things that are not good for has its roots in Biblical wisdom,primarily in the verses above.When things we want are kept away, it is often understood as protection rather than punishment.What seems like a blessing to us may ultimately be harmful and divert us down the wrong path. God may also deny us to teach us to be patient, to trust Him and make us stronger in adversity.When an opportunity that seems right for us is closed down, it very often leads to us being redirected to an even better opportunity.
Even when we are in the midst of trials, God is active behind the scenes,so we keep trusting God. We all have hard days but they are only a temporary part of a much bigger picture and in time God will fulfil His promise and will “bring all things together for the good of those who love Him”(Romans 8:28).
