The Daily Nugget- God Has Our Backs

Hi All

In Deuteronomy 31:8 we are promised that It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” As believers we can stand on this promise as our God offers constant protection and is with us everywhere we go to shield us from harm even when we are unaware of any danger.Our human friends may let us down even though they may not intend to,but our God never will. We are all  subject to trials and attacks but they will ultimately fail because God protects His people(Isaiah 54:17). As believers we can rest safe in the knowledge that God “Has Our Backs”.

God Has Our Backs

6 Blessed be the LORD, Who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.   7 Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the trapper; The snare is broken and we have escaped.   8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

(Psalm 124:6-8)

Have you ever wondered about all that God has protected you from ?

What would have made us its prey had God not intervened ? What snares did God enable us to avoid ? What escapes have we made as He guided our steps?

We may never know all the accidents we didn't experience because of our gracious God. We may never realise how often we were close to danger but continued on our way unharmed. But we may also be very aware of the times when God did intervene. Maybe the car almost hit our car but didn't . Maybe the company we wanted to work for went out of business soon after we never got the job. In these situations we see God as our shield.

The Lord protects us because he loves us with an everlasting love and He is on our side. We can join David in saying this about our mighty God." The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want" (Psalm  23:1). We shall not lack provision or protection, so like David we can say “Blessed be The Lord our Helper and Protector”(Psalm28:6-7).
