The Daily Nugget- All Our Soul
HI All
One of the core messages in Christianity is redemption of the soul through faith and by God's grace the soul is saved and reconciled with its Creator. In Christianity, the soul is the essence of our being, our mind, our will, and our emotions. It is the eternal part of us that reflects the image of God.The soul possesses infinite worth, as it was created by God and is uniquely valued by Him. Our soul is pivotal in having a relationship with God as Jesus confirmed when he commanded all His followers to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind"(Matthew 22:37). As believers we need to nurture our soul by resting in His presence and aligning our minds with His word and by doing this we will gradually become transformed into who He created us to be.
Be Blessed And Encouraged
All Our Soul
1The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.2 Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard.4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun,5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
(Psalm 19:1-6)
The Hebrew word for soul is Nephesh which is described in the Bible as our complete conscious being, the seat of our thoughts, desires and feelings.Dedicating our soul to God is about offering our whole life, will, and love to Him.It transforms daily routines into expressions of devotion, relying on His grace for peace and guidance. In Psalm 19, David writes; "How clearly the sky reveals God’s glory … no speech or words are used, no sound is heard; Yet their message goes out to all the world and is heard to the ends of the earth". As believers our lives should send the same message.
In several places in the Bible we’re told to love God with " all our soul", a phrase that uses the Hebrew word nephesh which means "soul" and also means "life", so we're supposed to love God WITH all our life FOR all our life. This is not loving Him for an hour each week at Church,NO it’s loving Him in everything we do in every minute of every day.In the words of Jesus “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven”. (Matthew 5:16).The challenge for us all is to ask ourselves this question:- If we never spoke another word, would the way we live our life glorify God before the world?
