The Daily Nugget
Hi All
In the bible Jesus tells us He is “The light of the World”(John 8:12)and during His sermon on the mount He says “You are the light of the world”(Matthew 5:14) and He also says“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven”(Matthew 5:16).As believers we are called to “Shine for Jesus” which means letting our faith influence our actions, words, and attitudes.This involves serving others, showing compassion, building a relationship with God through prayer and scripture, and being an example of Christ-like humility and love. Shine by being a light in the darkness, which means our good works will naturally be seen and lead others to glorify God. As Christians we need people to see a difference in us that sets us apart we need to “Keep Shining” for His glory as scripture tells “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”.(1 Corinthians 10:31).
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Keep Shining
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
(Matthew 5:16)
8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
(Ephesians 5:8-11)
Scientists tell us that darkness is not a thing on its own, but rather it is caused by the absence of something,that something is light. When we want to lighten a dark room, we don’t collect the darkness and remove it, we remove the darkness by bringing light into the room. Biblical writers were not aware of the “science of light” yet they still made reference to”darkness” and light” over 330 times.Sometimes the reference was to actual darkness (Genesis 1:2), but more often the terms referred metaphorically to spiritual darkness and spiritual light (Ephesians 5:8-11). The Gospel of John refers to the incarnation of Jesus as the arrival of light in a dark world (John 1:3-9), and Jesus referred to Himself as the “light of the world” (John 8:12). He also said that His followers would be the “light of the world” in His absence (Matthew 5:14). We are to let our light shine by our “good works”,that is, by our life (Matthew 5:16). As believers we are called to “Shine God's Light” through our actions and words in any situation where there is darkness,it only takes one beam of light to brighten up the darkness. When a tee-light candle is lit in a dark area it pierces through,let us be tee- lights in people's lives today to bring them from darkness into the light of The Lord.
